It looks like ex-supermodel Christie Brinkley wants to fry ex-husband Peter Cook’s reputation alive for all to see.
Their July 2 divorce trial will remain open to the public, ruled a New York judge just before the weekend.
Their acrimonious separation was sparked by Peter cook’s alleged affair with his 18-year-old assistant. After which, his previous dalliances with young assistant surfaced, plus his predilection for porn also came to light.
Long Island Judge Mark D. Cohen stated in his that the trial will be public because “open courtrooms, in general and in divorce actions, may provide a basis for societal education.”
Divorce trials in New York State are open to the public unless a judge decides to close them. He also said: “The required high burden of compelling reasons to close the courtroom has not been met.”
This new ruling clashes against Cook’s motion to keep the trial private, as some of the evidence could hurt their two minor children, Jack, 12 and Sailor, 9. Brinkley’s lawyers fought to keep the trial open.
