Troubled pop star Britney Spear’s attorney, Stacy Phillips, requested for Kevin Federline to pay for some of his own legal bills.

Spears is responsible for footing Federline’s legal fees, which includes a whopping $405,000 to his lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan.

Phillips argued this stance because Federline reportedly splurged on a $2,000 tip for a $365 restaurant bill, therefore he should be fully capable of paying “for the diligent work being done on his behalf”.

Also, Spear’s lawyer brought up the fact that Kaplan increased his fee to $600 an hour. Kaplan rebutted that Phillips charges $700 an hour.

Kaplan seems to have confidence in his client’s earning ability, as he said in court, “Mr Federline is doing things that will substantially increase the revenue he can have. Everything done by our side was done by Mr. Federline to protect his children from a very dangerous and very fluid situation.”

The question of who has to pay Federline’s legal fees is still being decided, or in court speak, “under submission”.
